SHARK DIVING IN PLAYA DEL CARMEN
Actually the bull shark (Carcharhinus Leucas) is an opportunistic species that can grow up to 4 meters in length. This means that it feeds on many types of aquatic animals, especially fish, turtles, marine mammals and even other sharks.
Playa del Carmen is among the best places in the world to dive with bull sharks, and the warm water and good visibility allow us to appreciate with great satisfaction the beauty and elegance of these majestic predators in Playa del Carmen between November and March.
BULL SHARK ENCOUNTER (1 DIVE)

We will be diving with the bull sharks at 80 ft. This is a static dive where you will have to stay in your assigned place. So if you’re up for this high-octane adventure, check it out and join us on this trip of a lifetime!
Bull sharks are very large creatures; they are not shy and often pass near the divers. This is a normal behavior for them; it will definitely be an adrenaline rush.
DESCRIPTION
We use fish to bring the sharks in close, which sometimes causes them to get excited. Their position in the food chain is vital for the health of the ecosystem. The more we learn about these animals the more we can enjoy and protect them.
PRE-REQUISITES
Advanced divers or Open Water divers with more than 20 logged dives (if you don’t comply with this, you can do a check-out dive previous to the shark dive so the instructor can evaluate your diving skills).
- Good air consumption.
- Good equalization techniques.
- Listen carefully and follow the dive plan.
- Proper equipment (full wetsuit, no bright colors).
It is important that you conduct yourself as a good diver and follow the plan for your and the rest of the group’s safety.

This dive takes place in a sandy bottom area at a depth of 60 ft., we drift dive for 45 minutes close to the area where we attract the sharks.
We do not use any type of bait or attraction on this dive, you will see the sharks in their natural environment, have the opportunity to take pictures, and be close to them.

SSI SHARK OBSERVER

The experience we have been acquiring during the past years has allowed us to create a specialty recognized by SSI: Shark Observer. This course will help you understand bull shark diving and perform it in a safe and responsible way.
DESCRIPTION
This course takes 1 to 2 days and includes:
- Introduction to the biology of the bull shark (Carcharhinus Leucas).
- Knowledge review.
- Explanatory video about bull shark diving.
- 2-tank diving tour with no attraction, during which it is possible to observe sharks in their natural habitat, without this being a guarantee.
- 1-tank Shark Encounter diving tour (Bull Shark Feeding), during which you will learn to observe specific features of sharks (such as gender, wounds, birthmarks, hooks, etc.), know different behaviors and compare them.
- Final exam.
- Certification SSI Shark Observer.

- Open Water certification with a minimum experience of 20 logged dives, or Advanced Open Water certification.

STINGRAY ENCOUNTER

During the Bull Shark season, when the sharks migrate to give birth or move for a few days to feed elsewhere, we offer the amazing STING RAY ENCOUNTER, on this dive the shark feeder will attract some rays close to the divers, this is an interactive and fun encounter with these beautiful creatures!
